The agreement between the two industry leaders will see LonAgro, representing Wood-Mizer Africa in selected African countries.
The new dealership agreement will kick off in Tanzania and Rwanda and then widen to include more countries later in 2020.
LonAgro is the official dealer and service agent for industry leading brands such as John Deere, Fieldking, Rovic Africa, Bell Equipment, John Deere Construction and STIHL. As Wood-Mizer’s new official dealership in Tanzania and Rwanda, LonAgro’s experience, and service network for leading brands will build Wood-Mizer’s successes in both countries further.
Wood-Mizer’s start in 1982 introduced a revolutionary thin-kerf narrow bandsaw portable sawmill to the world that set an international benchmark for sawmill design.
The range has since then grown and now also include industrial wide band sawmilling equipment, bandsaw and tooling ranges, sharpening equipment, woodworking machines, pallet manufacturing, timber drying and biomass processing solutions – from forest to final form.
Combined forces
The agreement between the LonAgro and Wood-Mizer will see the two companies combining forces to advance timber processing in Africa.
Speaking to Alan Crossan, LonAgro’s Sales Director he said, “LonAgro, like Wood-Mizer, have long- and well-established track records on the continent. We know the challenges and the opportunities that exist in Africa. Our combined know-how and reach in the markets we’ve announced, will assist sawmillers tobuild successful timber processing businesses.
“Wood-Mizer customers can now call at LonAgro’s existing branches throughout Tanzania and Rwanda for all their new equipment and spares and after-sales service needs. In Tanzania, our branches in Dar-es-Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza, Iringa are immediately available to service Wood-Mizer customers’ requirements.
“More service locations will follow later,” Alan continued.
